S.M.A.R.T goals are used in all workbooks to maintain consistency and standards set by The National Open College Network and The Ward program.
Specific: Using learning outcomes as set by The Open College Network.
Measurable: Using Independence Skills for Life Assessment.
Attainable: A timetable for support and coaching is in place for The Ward Program at Rookery House.
Realistic: A commitment by the learner and coach is established before registration.
Time: Commencing and a completion time are agreed between the Learner, Coach,
Internal verifier and External Verifier.
Feedback from the learner, coach, internal verifier and external verifier is at the back of the workbook to maintain continued excellence in this program.
Workbooks may be returned by post for verification and further evidence to support the learning, may be requested if deemed necessary.

Workbooks are to be returned to The Ward Program to be verified by an Internal Verifier and then Externally Verified by a member of The National Open College Network.
Upon completion, the Learner will receive a certificate at Entry Level or Level 1 with 3 learning credit units.
To achieve the qualification the correct Ward Program materials must be used as supplied and have been correctly marked in accordance with NOCN policy.
To maintain the high standards of the program, accuracy of results and as good practice, it is also recommended the outcomes are independently assessed by the Ward Program.

The Ward Program is a program created specifically for young people with autism spectrum disorders. The Ward Program workbooks are National Open College Network accredited and successful completion of the units will result in a NOCN accredited qualification and a certificate.
